Hellbent to Help was a limited red colorway I dyed to pair with the Melt the ICE Hat. The response was incredible, and we sold out every skein, raising $1,008 for the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund, which moves rapid, community‑informed support to Minnesota organizations serving immigrant and refugee families in crisis.
Even though the yarn is gone, there are still lots of ways to be Hellbent to Help:
-
Buy the Melt the ICE Hat pattern
All proceeds from the pattern go to local immigrant aid organizations, so your purchase is already a donation, and your hat becomes a visible sign of support.
-
Donate directly to the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund (IRRF)
IRRF was launched by the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota and is working to raise at least 5 million dollars for nonprofits on the frontlines across the state. You can give any amount and know it’s going to trusted, community‑based groups.

Visit StandWithMinnesota.com
This site gathers vetted mutual aid funds, school and neighborhood efforts, and other ways to show up for Minnesota families impacted by ICE actions.
My goal with Hellbent to Help was simple: use up the yarn I had, raise as much money as I could, and feel like I made even a small difference. This community showed up in a huge way. If you are still feeling a little helpless, please know you are not alone in that. I hope one of these options gives you a way to turn that feeling into action. I received so many lovely emails yesterday thanking me for doing this fundraiser. You got me all verklempt!
Thank you for being hellbent to help with me.
with love and color,
